TRANSIT MANAGERIAL BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

The Transit Managerial Benevolent Association, is a not for profit organization, founded in 1984. We are dedicated to protecting the rights of non-represented managerial employees. We assist managers throughout the New York City Transit Authority, Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority, MTA Long Island Bus, MTA Bus Company, and Staten Island Rapid Transit Operating Authority.

In order for the Transit Managerial Benevolent Association to achieve its goals, we need to enlist all Managers to join our Association. We have strength in numbers. Only with a united membership can we achieve our goals. This is your chance to have your voice heard along with your managerial peers. The dues are $10.00 per pay period. Come join us at our quarterly meetings and see what a united association of managers can accomplish.

The association has and will continue to offer a wide range of benefits to not only attract more members but satisfy those that are currently members.

The association offers $6,000 in Scholarship Awards yearly. These awards are offered to the sons, daughters, grand-children and step-children of members in good standing.

A Death Benefit of $5,000 is provided to the beneficiary of the TMBA member upon his/her demise. This coverage is for active managers only.

General Membership meetings are held 4 times a year. At these meetings we invite guest speakers that are of interest to the membership. A buffet dinner is served.

Along with our membership, we have a Retirees Association. The dues are $35 per year. Retired managers have the benefit of keeping-up to what is going on in the TA, OA and SIRTOA and assistance to resources for retirees benefit information. Retirees are invited to the General Membership Meetings.

The association has a web-site www.www.mtatmba.org The site is maintained and updated with information that all members can use, such as downloading applications, scheduled TMBA events, organization charts, department council members, web links, telephone directory, attorney lines, etc. The association hosts an Annual Dinner/Dance where we honor a “Manager of the Year” and our Scholarship Award winners.
